Dr. Raines completed her Doctorate of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology at Florida State University in 2016 and both her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral residency with the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System (SLVHCS) in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Currently, she works full-time as a clinical investigator at SLVHCS and part-time as a clinician at Longbranch Healthcare.

Dr. Raines also holds an academic appointment as a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Louisiana State University. Her theoretical orientation follows evidence-based guidelines and is rooted in cognitive behavioral principles. Dr. Raines has nearly 10 years of clinical experience, obtained throughout her graduate and postgraduate training, treating patients with co-occurring anxiety and substance use. In addition, she has a strong research background. Dr. Raines has published over 75 peer-reviewed manuscripts, 17 of which focus directly on the relationships between anxiety and substance use. These manuscripts have been featured in high impact journals including Addictive Behaviors, The American Journal on Addiction, and Journal of Addictive Medicine. Further, she recently received pilot funding to evaluate the utility of a brief, computerized anxiety intervention for individuals seeking treatment for an opioid use disorder.
